Another Cute Baby

Here I am again and so soon too! This time it is Rachel and her new baby. He is Thomas Jennings Nutter. He was born yesterday in Austell Georgia. Yes I just got back from Idaho Saturday and Rachel had him on Monday. What a welcome home! He is doing great,a great eater! He was 7 lbs. 3 ozs. and 19 inches long. We are having some great fun, well for me anyway, Rachel is sort of down. But she will bounce back fast, she is already doing better. Here are some pictures of him, Proud Grandma!

New Baby!!!

So I am in Idaho.  The best part is I have a new grandbaby!  Sweet little Ben.  He is doing all the little things that babies do.  Eating a lot, sleeping except when his parents want to, and messing up a lot of diapers!  I am so incredibly glad to be here.  It is so awesome to see the fist days of this special boys life.  I love it!!!

I am here at Rachel's house watching Sarah and Erick while Eve and Rachel are shopping for paint. Eve gave an Ariel mural on Sarah's wall to her for her birthday. Also she is going to paint a mechanics garage scene on Thomas' wall. Anyway they are gone to get paint for those projects. Watch Eve's blog for the reports and pictures as it goes along. She posts way better than I do. The kids are doing pretty well, not fighting much and not destroying anything at the moment. I am just having to listen to every version of Beat It known to man. That is Sarah's all time favorite song! She mostly likes Michael Jackson's version. We'll see if I start beating stuff and we'll know what kind of influence the song has over people! I got Erick some orange jack o lantern crocs and Sarah some green ghost crocs. They are so cute, Sarah's are glow in the dark! I would take some pictures but I don't know how to get them from my phone to Rachel's computer. I'll take them anyhow and put them on here when I get home. This post makes me feel less guilty for not posting more often even if I don't have much to say!

I'm Back!!!

Finally I can type on the computer without pain. Things have been really strange. Ever since July the 5th. Isn't it weird that your body could do something so crazy to you without you doing anything to deserve it. Well not much anyway. I was at Sam and LaShun's and all I did was sleep on the couch, without a pillow but it had fluffy ends!? Anyway they tried to give me a bed and a pillow but I didn't see the need. After the second night I woke up with a horrible pain in my neck. It didn't stop there and as the day went by the pain went down across my shoulder and then my elbow and sometimes to my hand. My left index finger is still a little numb. I left Sam's on the 7th. I had not been able to lay down for the rest of the time I was there and with so little sleep I was a crazy person! When I got home I went to the doctor (not much help there). Also to the chiropractor everyday for a long time. I had some really bad times with it. Eve thought I had lost my mind and reverted to being a whining baby. Maybe so but it hurt more than having 5 children with natural childbirth...go figure. I didn't really analyze it cause I was in PAIN! I could not sit at the computer without hurting a lot. I think because the monitor is raised high. I guess my head had to tilt up too much for my neck. I am so much better. It still hurts but I can handle it. Guess it's called getting OLD, I don't like it!! My Mama didn't tell me it would be like this! Don't know what picture to put here. I'll think about it!
I have managed to read "Breaking Dawn". It was soooo good. I'll try to be back sooner.

ME RIDING MARTA? WHAT?

First I should say that I am happy to have the opportunity to get to work cheaply. All the "operators" (used to be drivers) have been helpful and friendly. But there are many stories in Diane's trips on Marta. Especially chilling when I have only been riding 3 weeks.
First the skinny on Breeze cards. I read everything I could get my hands on about these, to no avail! You have to have one to ride the bus but you can't get one till you get to the station. My first ride was good cause the operator let me ride and then buy my card. What about that, an intelligent person to know I had to pay one way or another. Anyway my diligent study of the situation did not work cause first I could not get the plastic card that everywhere says that it is best. I found out eventually that it just takes more money to get one. So the first day I go and get the cardboard one with 5.00 on it. Of course I did not do the math and tried to make 3 trips with it. Doesn't work. So I added 5.00 again. You would think that I would have 2.50 left over when the 2 trips were up but no. I only had 1.25 again, I lost 1.25. Don't know why. So the second time I had to put money on this card it didn't even give me the option to do it. Well the trains do not wait for people fighting the machines for breeze cards so I just bought another. They do cost .50 by the way. So I buy 3 round trips, grab my card and go. When I get on the train I have 3 breeze cards. One is the defunct 1.25 one and one should be my 3 round trip one so what is the other one? I tapped it when I got off the train and it said it had no money on it so I assumed that it was a mistake and threw it away. Later I determined that it might have said no money but further down on the display it probably said it had 2 round trips. I figured this out because after my trip home that day I had no more trips left on that one card. Marta got me. I finally went to a station where an attendant was and she showed me how to get a plastic card which has eased some of my problems. Imagine this....it just took more money...HA. The next time I lost money to Marta was when MY bus, at least that is what the display on the bus said, pulled up and I got on and tapped my card and the operator said are you going to Fairburn? No? Well this bus is. Man! I had to tap again for the other bus. Marta got me again.

Another bus story. The bus going by work leaves the Dunwoody Station at 6:05, yes in the morning. So one day I get there at 5:40 and when 6:05 comes, no bus. No bus all the way to 6:45 (should have been another at 6:35.) So we all say WHY and the operator says that they tried to give her a bus with only 5 seats on it. She told them she needed more seats (too true). So then, the unbelievable part, she had to go herself station to station to find the bus she needed. Do any of you believe that?

Here are a couple of train stories. One day the train came and we all went up to the door and the door on the other side opened. Since there was no platform over there I assume we were supposed to climb over and get in. Well none of us accepted that challenge so the doors shut and it went on and we had to wait what seemed a long time till the next train came.
Another day I was waiting for the north bound North Springs train. Now at the College Park station the trains that come only come from the Airport Station but they can be a North Springs or a Doraville. The Doraville goes Northeast at a certain point and I don't want to go that way. It is fairly important that I know which train I am getting on. This day the display on the train said Airport. Well I knew where it was coming from....HA. So I have to decide what to do quickly so I get on. Well usually they announce where the train is going before they open the doors and after the doors close. Guess what....not on that train. I had to start asking people, thinking maybe he/she changed the sign while traveling, what else could he/she be doing, sleeping? Maybe so anyway I got some looks, like why don't you know what train you are on. Finally someone told me I was on the right one and I actually was. One for me, Marta!! There never seems to be an end to the stories and I'm sure I will be posting some more unbelievable ones.

OK I was tagged by Eve.

Well this is a way to make me post! My book close by to me is "The Cat Who Knew a Cardinal" so here is the line. "Ahead of him was a rosy light spilling from a doorway." This must go with Eve's line. When you are working on being happy everyday, on your blessings, it is like being in a rosy light spilling from a doorway. Maybe I should explain what this is all about. Someone tagged Eve:
The rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages).
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence.
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog.
5. Tag 5 people.

You'll have to go to her blog to read what she wrote.

A link is on the right side of this blog.

OK Michael you are tagged. Also Rebecca Hemsley! Let's see what you guys can find.

I want to do a hair history like Bekah but I don't think I could take looking at so many pictures of myself. Especially since all the hair doos would be horrible. I might try when I can find time.

It is still spring here altho the flowers are gone (that makes it easier to breathe. But it is still cool outside (where is the global warming)? I will put a couple of pictures of our Azaelia bush (that I didn't know that was what it was till it bloomed), and our Dogwood tree (ditto). They were real pretty. I have a great story about the Dogwood blossom.

The Legend of the Dogwood.
The Dogwood, tall and strong as an oak, was used to make the cross upon which Jesus was crucified. The Dogwood was greatly distressed at its role, and sorrowful for His suffering. Sensing this, Jesus decreed that never again would the Dogwood grow large enough to be used as a cross. He said, "From this time on you shall be slim and twisted, and your blossoms shall be in the form of a cross. At the top of each petal there will be nail marks, rusty brown and red stained, and in the center of the bloom will be seen a crown of thorns, that all who behold the tree and it's flowers shall remember."

I surely don't know if this is true, but I was spell bound when I heard this as a child. The Dogwood blossom always reminds me of the Savior's sacrifice for me and that can't be bad.

My Mother

Sad news my Mother passed away last Saturday. I am going to miss her very much! She is happy though, I know that because she is with my Father who passed away in 2001. She never really recovered from that. I have enjoyed helping to take care of her ever since then. She passed very peacefully. My children helped out at the funeral. Eve did a eulogy and it was very good. Michael talked on the Holy Spirit and how he can bring comfort to us who are still here. Also Michael, Bekah, Eve and Rachel sang "The Lord is my Shepherd". I enjoyed it very much and loved having all my children with me for a couple of days. I know Mother was there and was very proud of them too.
